West Bay, Grand Cayman
A firm favourite place to live with locals, West Bay is within easy commuting to Camana Bay and George Town, served by the West Bay Road (coast road) and also an efficient bypass. A family-orientated, friendly district, West Bay encapsulates island living to perfection from every angle, with historic cottages adding an element of heritage, gorgeous beaches and quiet coastlines offering breath-taking, breezy ocean views. With all this on offer and still has an excellent variety of accommodations to suit all budgets.
Prime seafront homes naturally command high-end prices, yet there are still well-priced properties for sale. Popular areas include the exceptional beachfront homes along Boggy Sands Road, superb family residences at The Shores and private ocean-front homes of distinction at the Conch Point Beach Resort.
West Bay is a dream for those who love the outdoors, with pony-trekking, kite-surfing and wind-surfing centres on the doorstep, not to mention the plethora of dive sites that dot this part of the coast. Barkers National Park is natural jewel in the West Bay crown, a secluded section of pristine coast that can be enjoyed responsibly by all.
Foodies are spoilt of choice as some of the island’s best restaurants are located here. The delightful Italian restaurant, Ristorante Pappagallo, is a beautiful destination in its own right, a tiki-style property nestled in its own unique bird sanctuary, while Calypso Grill is the epitome of laid-back Caribbean high-end dining. It’s located on Sticky Toffee Lane, named after the restaurant’s superb sticky toffee pudding. Not to be missed!
