North Side, Grand Cayman
Either traverse the middle of the island via Frank Sound Road or take the coast road around the island’s perimeter and you will find yourself in North Side, a world away from the life and energy of George Town and Seven Mile Beach. Here, peace and quiet rule the day, with far fewer homes dotting the landscape and room to breathe in the balmy air of this lovely island.
A clutch of seaside townhouses stake their lucky claim to this most unspoiled of sceneries, while private oceanfront dwellings with fun names such as ‘Cayman Staid’ and ‘Pieces of Eight’ appear along the gorgeous, oceanfront drive to Rum Point and Cayman Kai.
While the most glorious of ocean views is by far the main attraction for this part of Grand Cayman (or any part, for that matter), North Side does have a small number of other attractions to enjoy, such the exciting Cayman Crystal Caves, an incredible geographic find with colourful stalactites and stalagmites a plenty.
There is less property available in North Side than in the more populous areas of Grand Cayman, but that which is located here tends to be something of a gorgeous oasis of tranquility. A handful of secluded, beautiful homes can be discovered here, enjoying their own private stretch of white powdered sand and views of the deep blue ocean that never end. These beachfront homes offer Caribbean living at its finest.
