Overview
Bodden Town and Breakers
Bodden Town was once the capital of the Cayman Islands but is now a quiet village that offers all the charm of a real Caribbean lifestyle. The town runs along a beautiful stretch of coastline and is served by Bodden Town Road that connects the island, east to west. A little further east and, just as the name suggests, Breakers conjures up the spirit of this wonderful part of Grand Cayman – a place where a hammock, a good book and a cool drink are the only must-have items you need to enjoy the lull of the ocean waves.
Traditional cottages still prettily dot the landscape but, recognising the incredible charm of this location, buyers are tending to create luxury properties here, taking full advantage of glorious views and the space this quiet area still affords. Moon Bay condominiums is a lovely well-established development with charming ocean views and are a great choice with lots of amenities. Lake and ocean view land lots are available as well, so you can build your dream home in this lovely neighbourhood.
As well as having its own peaceful white-sandy beach, Bodden Town and also Breakers enjoy some lovely restaurants and cafés that hug the waterfront and offer diners stunning views with their meals. This is a relaxed spot where people make you feel at home the minute you arrive.
Filled with cultural and historical significance, Bodden Town has some interesting attractions and landmarks, including the National Trust’s Mission House where missionaries gathered in the 19th Century to teach local people, as well as the historic gun square complete with canons, and also the enigmatic Pirate’s Caves, which offers a great day out for all the family.
